Crown and Bridge Appointments

After Crown and Bridge Appointments:

If you have a temporary crown or bridge in place, it’s best to avoid eating anything too sticky or hard until your permanent restoration is ready. Please brush and floss the temporary restoration but avoid waterpiking the area until the final restoration is in place.

It is normal for your gum tissue to be a little tender for a few days following crown or bridge preparations and you may have some initial sensitivity when eating or drinking. If your bite doesn’t feel right after your anesthetic wears off, please call us to adjust the temporary. Having your bite off for several weeks can lead to prolonged pain and sensitivity.

If at any time your temporary restoration comes out or breaks, please contact our office to have it replaced as soon as possible. Having a temporary restoration come out prematurely can affect the fit of your final restoration.
