Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that can help lighten natural teeth. In the past we’ve offered in-office single day bleaching treatments however research has shown that the most effective way to lighten teeth is with a take home whitening kit. We fabricate custom trays that will fit tightly to your teeth and provide the whitening agent that gets placed daily in the trays and worn for up to 30 minutes at a time. 

Custom trays will continue to be fit and can be used repeatedly for several years for touch up treatment unless extensive dental work is done after they are made. Using custom trays allows the patient to have control over how light they want their teeth to get. Some patients will be happy after just a few days of whitening, others may continue to whiten for up to two weeks. Using custom trays helps reduce sensitivity that can occur when whitening is done too quickly and also allows teeth to stay whiter for longer. 

Not all teeth will whiten. Teeth with crowns, extensive fillings, or internal discoloration will not whiten effectively. For patients interested in whitening we will assess your teeth and let you know if you’re a good candidate for the treatment. It is ideal to have your teeth professionally cleaned prior to whitening to remove any surface stains that may have built up. We also recommend using a sensitive toothpaste before, during, and after whitening to help reduce sensitivity.
