Dental sealants are a preventive service designed to strengthen teeth and protect against decay. Molar teeth naturally have multiple grooves and pits that can trap plaque and food which can lead to cavities. Sealants act as a protective barrier on the chewing surfaces of teeth which help prevent cavities from forming. Ideally, we try to apply sealants on children after their permanent molars have fully erupted. These treatments are especially effective for children, teens, and adults prone to cavities.

Sealants are easy and painless to apply. It takes approximately 2-3 minutes to seal each tooth. Our dentists and hygienists will advise if sealants are recommended and when they should be applied. When combined with proper brushing and flossing seals help significantly reduce the risk of tooth decay.
